Highlights:
- Qualcomm President and CEO Cristiano Amon took the stage with industry leaders from Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft, and Samsung to highlight the industry shift taking place in the PC space enabled by Copilot+ PCs powered by Snapdragon X Series.
- Demonstrations and benchmarks showed that devices powered by Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon X Plus processors are the only PCs today that are capable of delivering Copilot+ PC experiences and can deliver up to multiple days of battery life, unparalleled performance per watt and on-device AI experiences with the world’s fastest and most efficient NPU for laptops.
- The initial wave of over 20 Copilot+ PCs powered by Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon X Plus processors area available for pre-order now and can be purchased from major retailers starting June 18.
At Computex 2024, Qualcomm President and CEO, Cristiano Amon, took the stage, joined by leaders from the global PC ecosystem, to celebrate and reveal what consumers and enterprises can expect across productivity, creativity, and entertainment from a new category of PC’s, the Copilot+ PCs that today are only powered by Snapdragon® X Elite and Snapdragon® X Plus Platforms.
“The PC is reborn. Copilot+ PCs powered by Snapdragon X Elite are the fastest, most intelligent Windows PCs ever built with AI integrated throughout the system and can deliver multi-day battery life,” - Cristiano Amon, Qualcomm President and CEO
“I am grateful to the partners that joined me on stage today to celebrate this industry shift that puts Snapdragon powered Windows Copilot+ PCs at the forefront of technology innovation. Together, we are redefining the personal computing experience, and enabling developers to efficiently create apps for this new generation.” - Cristiano Amon, Qualcomm President and CEO
Built from the ground up, Amon highlighted the NPU in the Snapdragon X Series, as a key differentiator and reason why performance of PCs powered by Snapdragon X Series is superior and makes Copilot+ experiences possible. Offloading AI workloads from the CPU and GPU to the NPU significantly boosts performance and delivers massive power savings.
With this in mind Amon stated that Qualcomm Technologies is restoring performance leadership to the Windows PC ecosystem with our leading NPU which delivers the highest NPU performance per watt for laptops, up to 2.6X vs. M3 and up to 5.4X vs. Core Ultra 71. With our leading Qualcomm Oryon™ CPU, Snapdragon X Elite is the new performance leader for Windows with up to 51% faster CPU performance at ISO power and matches competitor peak PC CPU performance at 65% less power2.
Amon also went beyond the hardware to point out Qualcomm Technologies’ industry-leading development tools for the creation of next-generation AI apps. The Qualcomm® AI Hub allows developers to deploy a model in 5 minutes on devices powered by Snapdragon platforms, whether their own or from Qualcomm Technologies’ growing collection of pre-optimized, ready-to-use AI models. The new Snapdragon® Dev Kit for Windows provides the ideal hardware platform for these developers, with an accelerated Snapdragon X Elite chipset and a popular, stackable form factor.
